PEN-IMPACT: MOVING BEYOND MEDICAL MANAGEMENT
(site under construction)
(site under construction)
PEN-IMPACT is a growing African partnership aimed to develop and implement contextual strategies to mitigate the impact of chronic disease on functioning, activity, participation and quality of life with a specific focus on low-resourced settings.
It builds on the widely adopted Package of Essential Interventions for Non-Communicable Disease (PEN) as well as the PEN-PLUS strategy focused on alleviating the noncommunicable disease (NCD) burden among the poorest children and young adults by increasing the accessibility and quality of chronic care services for severe NCDs. It is anticipated that the partnerships works across the fields of implementation science, epidemiology, health systems research, allied health, systems thinking and community engagement.
